Continue reading »]]> Many patrons of the Interlakes Summer Theatre will remember Billy Noble, a favorite player at the Interlakes Summer Theatre, a professional summer stock company in residence at the air-conditioned Inter-Lakes Community Auditorium at the Inter-Lakes HS on Route 25 in Meredith.  In past summers, Billy has appeared as Kenicke in Grease, Curly in Oklahoma and Lancelot in Camelot.  He has also performed in our Christmas Cabaret. The season includes professional main stage musicals “Ain’t MisBehavin”, “Dreamgirls”, “Les Miserables”, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, & “The Full Monty”. The theatre will also be offering a Monday Evening Series of “The Straw Hat Revue”, “All I Ask of You, The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber”, and “Our Time, The Music of Stephen Sondheim”. In addition, the Children’s Series continues on alternate Fridays and Saturdays with “The Little Mermaid”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Charlie Brown & Friends”, and a world premiere of the musical “Pete, The Cat”. Continue reading »]]> The summer season includes “Ain’t Misbehavin’”, a sassy, sophisticated, witty celebration of the music of Fats Waller, “Dreamgirls”, a glitzy, non-stop show biz extravaganza of music and dance, “Les Miserables”, the world famous musical popera, starring Greg Holt as Jean Valjean, just off the Broadway National Tour, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”, starring Interlakes favorite Thom Caska, and “The Full Monty”, a funny, touching story of unemployed steelworkers who join together to pave a new road ala “The Chippendales”.

There is also a great selection of shows for children, performed by the Interlakes Children’s Theatre.  Titles include “The Little Mermaid”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Charlie Brown and Friends“, and “Pete, The Cat”.   Pete, the Cat is an original musical based on the book, which was voted the winner of the NH Ladybug Award, by NH students , Grades K-3 and will feature music also written by the author, Eric Litwin.

The cast of “All I Ask of You”, featuring the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The Interlakes Summer Theatre will once again be offering it’s Monday Series in July & August.

The first in the series will be July 8^th, “The Straw Hat Revue” introducing the company to the Lakes Region Community.  The second, on July 22^nd will be “All I Ask of You” a song & dance concert featuring the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber.  “This show was so well received over Mother’s Day weekend”, says producer Nancy Barry, that we decided to bring the show back for our summer audiences to have chance to enjoy it!”  The third show in the Monday Series will be “Our Time”, the Music of Stephen Sondheim.

The Monday shows will be at 5:30 pm with a light supper buffet served at the theatre by the Series Sponsor, John Cook/ Mame’s Restaurant at 4:30.  Shows should be over before dark.  All Monday tickets are $25.00 and include dinner and the show.  Also, all donors will receive an invitation to attend the “Straw Hat Revue” as our guest!  For info and tickets call 1-888-245-6374 or visit www.interlakestheatre.com

The theatre which is a “Developing Theatre” in Partnership with Actors Equity Association is seeking local teen and adult  male and female actors who are non-union members with strong voices for the ensemble of “Les Miserables”.  Also seeking a soprano girl (approximate 8-10) and a boy (approximately  12-14) to play singing roles in that show and a young boy, approximately 10-14 to play a major role in “The Full Monty”.  A few small adult roles may also be filled in other mainstage productions.

The Junior Intern Company, made up of teens and tweens will participate under the direction of theatre professionals and are primarily responsible for performing the Children’s Theatre Series.  This is a six week theatre program and is completely free for all participants.

All auditionees should prepare a song, to be sung with a pianist, so sheet music is required.  You may be asked to do a cold reading from a script.  Also, bring a current photo.
