Interlakes Planning “Vintage Variety Extravaganza

IMG_0567

Pat Kelly & Chris Kelly, Local Celebrities, will MC the Vintage Variety Extravaganza, a community talent show March 4th & 5th, at the newly renovated Inter-Lakes Community Auditorium.

The Interlakes Summer Theatre will be presenting a community talent show on Saturday, March 4th at 5:30 and Sunday, March 5th at 2:00 and that show will be hosted by Pat Kelly, Radio Celebrity of WEMJ/Binnie Media and his celebrity brother, Chris Kelly, Remax/Greater Meredith Program, et al.

Producer Nancy Barry explained, “This whole idea grew out of a musical theatre class I taught for “older adults”. It was really interesting for me to work with adults versus kids. For some it was just a hobby, some an item on their bucket list. Everyone had a different priority, but I think everyone learned something about themselves or about how performers approach their work–it was fun!”

“I had to laugh”,  continued Barry, “when one of the performers expressed concerned that her material wasn’t really “vintage” enough to go in the show.  I had to explain, that actually it was the performers that were supposed to be vintage”.

“There are a lot of talented people here in the Lakes Region. Not just singers. I have an actor who impersonates Carol Channing, Ethel Merman and Cher…We have a husband and wife who do music and comedy—billed as The Smothers Brothers meets George and Gracie…and there are a few other fabulous surprises…but I don’t want to disclose just yet!”

This talent show will be a fundraiser for the Interlakes Summer Theatre to help defray the costs of royalties. All tickets are $20.00 and can be purchased by calling 603 707-6035 or online at interlakestheatre.com.

20160728_170645-1 web

Shelly Walsh, Meghan McCandless, Mary Hannah Dober, and Caitlin Donahue (originally of Portsmouth) appear in “Footloose” at the Interlakes Summer Theatre, Aug 9-14.

Interlakes Theatre is finishing off this summer’s season with a show that will be performed for the first time ever in the NH Lakes Region, Footloose, opening on August 9. This classic tale of teenage rebellion and repression features incredible choreography and realistic and touching performances. When teenager Ren McCormack and his family move from big-city Chicago to a small Midwestern town, he’s in for a real case of culture shock. Though he tries hard to fit in, the streetwise Ren can’t quite believe he’s living in a place where rock music and dancing are illegal. However, there is one small pleasure: Ariel Moore, a troubled but lovely blonde with a jealous boyfriend and a father who is a Bible-thumping minister responsible for keeping the town dance-free. Ren and his classmates want to do away with this ordinance, especially since the senior prom is around the corner, but only Ren has the courage to initiate a battle to abolish the outmoded ban and revitalize the spirit of the repressed townspeople. Performances will be at Interlakes Auditorium One Laker Lane, on Tuesday August 9 thru August 14. Performances are 7:30 pm Tuesday through Saturday and 5 pm on Sunday. I’m just being Solomon on stage”, says Kee, who plays Sammy. “I sing his songs and add a few Sammy Davisisms here and there. I don’t believe anyone can impersonate him. He was one of a kind. I just wanna make the world taste good like he did.”

Solomon performed his one-man show here in October 2013 and since has continued the development with help from NYC producers and directors.  He returns with his Musical Director, Joshua Stecher-Ross and Interlakes favorites David LeBlanc (“Dave, the drummer”) and bassist Dr. Anthony Varga.  “Everywhere I go in town, folks have asked me to bring him back, so on my recent trip to NYC, Solomon & I sat down together and made a plan!”, says Barry.

The Wiz – August 12th – August 17th

The Wiz press releaseThis musical is adapted from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.  As you probably remember it begins on a tumbledown farm in Kansas. Mother Nature takes charge and takes Dorothy, Nasia Thomas (who was in several productions at Interlakes in 2013) for a whirlwind ride to Oz where she meets the mama’s boy Lion played by Darius Nelson, the hip Scarecrow, Saidu Sinlah, and the up-tight Tin Man, Basit Shittu. In this modern version, their adventures take them to the big city in the middle of a magical musical circus. It’s a fantasy for today’s boisterous world.

The Director of this fantasy, Kenneth Green (who also directed Godspell this year) was quoted as saying, “THE WIZ is a side of OZ you’ve never seen before. It takes the story of Dorothy and her friends and updates it with fantastic POP and R&B music written by Charlie Smalls and Luther Vandross. We will be taking the audience on a streetwise fun and hip journey through OZ, but it’s also a lovely story of faith, friendship and family.”

Come along for this wild ride that radiates so much energy you’ll hardly be able to sit in your seat. Call 888-245-6374 for tickets or order online!

First Time in the Lakes Region – Miss Saigon!

Miss Saigon Interlakes Summer TheatreMiss Saigon is a multiple Tony Award winning powerful musical that will arrive on stage at the Interlakes Summer Theatre in Meredith July 15 – 27. The music and lyrics were written by Claude-Michel Schonbert and Alain Boublil. (You may recognize these names from Les Miserables.)

This epic musical love story is another moving testament to the human spirit. It tells the passionate tale of a young Vietnamese bar girl, Kim, played by Quynh-My. Kim falls in love with an American G.I. stationed in Saigon during the war, named Chris, played by Justin Luciano. Other cast members include Cartreze Tucker as John, Kelliann DiCarlo as Ellen, Tony Rodriguez III as the Engineer and Jesse Alvarez as Thuy. They each provide moving emotional performances. Miss Saigon also has a dynamic supporting cast bringing heart-pounding energy to the stage.

As the story continues, Vietnam falls to the enemy and Chris and Kim are separated. Many years later Chris returns to Vietnam looking for Kim and discovers she is still alive and raising their son. The noise of helicopter blades brings audiences closer to Chris and Kim as the Viet Cong close in on Saigon. With little time Chris has some painful decisions to make.

Miss Saigon played on Broadway between 1991 and 2001 with almost 4100 shows performed. This brilliant musical has been seen in over 300 cities in 15 countries. The London stage is currently doing a revival with opening day ticket sales setting a new world record. And now it will be in Meredith.

Miss Saigon is a must-see in the life of anyone who loves musical theatre. For tickets and information, call 1-888-245-6374 or visit the website at www.interlakestheatre.com.

Riley reflects on his first experience with doing Buddy Holly Story four years ago “The experience was heightened by the fact that Nancy was able to bring in so many talented and versatile actor/musicians to back me up and actually make me look better than I actually am.  Brian Feehan’s sharp fast pace direction of the piece was also an amazing addition to the whole experience.”  He continued by saying “Coming back to reprise the production is going to be a joy ride. I already know the songs so I can leave that stress behind me and really dig in deep to the heart of the character and hopefully bring this musical legend back to life for a week in August.”

Come to the Cabaret in Meredith!

The Kander and Ebb classic Cabaret will hit the Interlakes Summer Theatre stage August 2nd. This musical, set in 1930’s Berlin during the rise of the Third Reich tells the story of an American writer, Clifford Bradshaw, who travels to Berlin to write a novel. It is there that he meets and eventually falls in love with, Sally Bowles, a British cabaret singer at the Kit Kat Club.  This show is a wonderful mixture of powerful songs and entertaining dance numbers.

The role of Sally Bowles will be played by Dara Hartman. In developing her character, Hartman finds research important. She has been reading Christopher Isherwood’s Berlin Stories for the past month, gaining insight into her character, Sally Bowles. What stands out to Hartman about the character is, “Her air of not caring what people think, her attempts to shock and stimulate. It’s going to be a lot of fun!” She looks most forward to singing the finale song Cabaret, which she says, “… is at an integral point of the character’s emotional journey.”

Sue Boland makes her Interlakes Theatre debut as Fraulein Schneider, the owner of the boarding house where Clifford Bradshaw stays. “I’ve been lucky enough to see several fine actresses tackle the role in both the original and revised version, but I’ve always wanted to see more realism, more understanding of what was behind Schneider’s (song) So What!”. When it comes to developing her character Boland explained “I’ve been reading the “Berlin Stories” and have basically learned three different versions of the script.  Each version has given a slightly different emphasis to the story, so I’ve been lucky enough to have already been presented with several different sides to Fraulein Schneider.”  She continued by saying “I’ve played with numerous ways to get a particular thought across to the audience, thought about how I might look, what age I’ll be, etc  and then I try to erase everything and allow my director and the relationships I have with my fellow actors to shape, in this case, the Fraulein Schneider that you will see and get to know better.”

The show will also feature Matthew Rickard as the Emcee, the role made famous by  Joel Grey in the film and Broadway stage production.  Rickard is well known in Meredith, NH for playing Richie Valens in The Buddy Holly Story.

Cabaret will be performed at  Interlakes Summer Theatre (at the ILHS  at 1 Laker Lane in Meredith August 2nd-14th.  Come out and enjoy a love story like you’ve never seen before. Featuring such show stopping numbers as Wilkommen, Don’t Tell Mama, Cabaret, and Maybe This Time.

All three actors making their Interlakes Summer Theatre debut in Hairspray and could not be more excited.

Catherine Gallagher is a recent graduate of Point Park University in Pittsburgh and looks forward to playing one of her dream roles. “Tracy is a role played by a true triple threat. It is also a niche role that can only be played by a specific type of actor. To be considered among these few talented women is an honor.”She continued by saying “Playing Tracy is absolutely thrilling, because she’s such a take-charge person. She’s optimistic about everything and completely colorblind – she just wants the world to dance.”

Caitlin Thurnauer is excited to be part of such of such a talented cast that will be bringing such an energetic show to the Meredith community.   “I think the most exciting thing about being in Hairspray is getting to sing a phenomenal score and deliver such hysterical material.“  She looks forward to playing Penny because she is so full of life and energy and in love. “It doesn’t get much better than playing a character that is falling in love for the first time.  I also look forward to the transformation and growth she experiences throughout the show.”

Corey Campercholi looks forward to bringing  Hairspray to the  Meredith Community. “They have been so supportive of Guys and Dolls, and Man of La Mancha, and I have a feeling they are going to go CRAZY for Hairspray!” He went on to say “I am most excited to sing “You Can’t Stop the Beat” with the rest of the company!  It’s the finale of the show and it’s a nonstop five minutes of dancing and singing for the entire company.”.

Classic Musical, Man of La Mancha, at Interlakes Summer Theatre

Scott Sowinski and Sheira Feuerstein appear in Man of La Mancha

On Tuesday July 5th, the Interlakes Summer Theatre will open “Man of LaMancha” the second production of the 2011 season.  This production features Scott Sowinski as Don Quixote, previously seen here in Anything Goes and 25th AnnualPutnam County Spelling Bee and Sheira Feuerstein who returns this year as Aldonza, after appearing last year as Mama Morton in Chicago and  Nimue in Camelot.

In an interview Feuerstein expressed her thoughts about the play and her role in it. “I’m completely captivated by the music and lyrics, and I’m humbled by the ideas that Cervantes puts forth in its story.  I think we’ve all been in a place where we’ve grappled with how we feel about the world.  I certainly have.  I’ve heard the mantra that if you just believe that your dreams will come true, then they will, and you’ll be happy.  Well, by it’s definition, the “impossible dream” that Don Quixote is chasing will not be realized.  And yet, he is the happiest and noblest character in this story because he lives his ideals, despite the fact that his surrounding reality is, objectively, terrible.” She continued  by saying  “The character I play, Aldonza, is his polar opposite: deeply rooted in her reality and resigned that ideals are not worth having — that “the world’s a dung heap, and we are maggots who crawl on it.”  Her journey is a challenging one; how do you come out of that feeling when it is so ingrained in and supported by your reality?  The very act of just lifting yourself up (or letting someone lift you up), and living by the noblest ideals you can imagine, despite the total futility in it, is overwhelmingly inspiring for me.”

Producing Director,  Nancy Barry, stated that  Man of La Mancha is one of her favorite shows. “It is both simple and complex.  In many ways it is the story of the “everyman”.”  She continued by saying “And I think people forget how funny this show is.  Don Quixote is a madman and his life philosophies and friendship with his squire, Sancho are often hilarious. The score is unforgettable with songs like “Little Bird, Little Bird” and “The Impossible Dream“.

Man Of La Mancha is sponsored by Hart’s Turkey Farm and will play July 5th through the 17th at the air conditioned Interlakes Summer Theatre (ILHS), 1 Laker Lane in Meredith.  Show times are Tuesday- Saturday 7:30pm  and Sundays at 7:00pm with matinees on Wednesday and Thursday at 2:00pm.

Guys and Dolls to start off Interlakes Summer Theatre 2011 Season

Chris Burgdorff and Phil Bacotti appear in Guys and Dolls

Interlakes Summer Theatre opens their 2011 Summer Season on June 21st with the classic musical Guys and Dolls.  The show features Katie Clark as Miss Adelaide, Cary Mitchell as Nathan Detroit, Caitlin Mesiano as Sarah Brown and Matt Zimmerman as Sky Masterson.

Meisano is very excited about playing the role of Sarah Brown, “So often actors who tackle this role, fall into the ingénue trap and she can seem rather two dimensional. I think there is so much more depth to her character that I can’t wait to bring to life. I’ve found that she is not just your ordinary “goody two-shoes,” but that she has a real fire in her.” Mesiano went on  to  say  “This show is so special, too because it presents us with so many of the same challenges we face today; for example falling for the wrong person, then obsessing over how they wouldn’t be wrong if you could only change and mold them into what you want them to be. But as we learn time and time again, you can’t change people. This lesson of acceptance has really stood the test of time, and I think it’s why so many people can relate to the characters in this show.”

The Meredith Bay Colony Club is the proud community sponsor of the Interlakes Summer Theatre and it’s production of  “Guys and Dolls”.

Guys and Dolls will be performed June 21st-July 3rd at Interlakes Summer Theatre, 1 Laker Lane in Meredith.  Show times are Tuesday-Saturday at 7:30pm, Sundays at 7:00pm, with matinees on Wednesday and Thursday at 2:00pm. Please note; due to the auditorium being booked, there will be no matinee on Wednesday June 22nd for Guys and Dolls. Come out and enjoy this classic musical in our lovely air conditioned auditorium!

Get Ready for Interlakes Summer Theatre’s 2011 Season

Get ready for another season of amazing shows at Interlakes Summer Theatre.

The Main Stage Company will be performing Guys and Dolls, Man of La Mancha, Hairspray, Cabaret and Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story.

When it comes to show selection, Artistic Director Nancy Barry offered the following insight; “We decide shows by surveying audience members, combining the tried and true with the new.”  Barry considers many things when selecting shows. One key aspect is balance so Barry chooses shows which are not all from the same time period as well as performances that effectively use all the company members.  Secondly, Barry makes certain that they will be able to carry the show technically and talent wise.  Lastly,  availability also comes into play as many other local theatres are in competition for the same actors.

Man of La Mancha is Barry’s favorite show. “It’s really inspiring, it’s intelligent and it is surprisingly funny- very witty and high comedy.  Audience members have told Barry that Guys and Dolls is their all-time favorite show.  This summer Barry is reviving Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story due to its popularity in the 2008 inaugural season.  It was a big hit and audience members were dancing in the aisles. Barry expects Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story to sell out.  Familiar faces, Jason Burrow, Matt Rickard and Nathan Riley will be back to reprise their roles as the Big Bopper, Richie Valens and Buddy Holly respectively.

The Youth Theatre Company will be performing Aladdin, The Aristocats, Tinkerbell and Peter and The Wolf. Rachel Witkovsky is the artistic director for the Youth Theatre program. The company consists of middle school and high school students ages 12-18.   When it comes to choosing shows,Witkovsky  said “ I know that we usually like to pick at least one show that is more for the girls, one that is more for the boys, and one that meets in the middle.”  Witcovsky looks forward to all the shows although she has favorites; “Aladdin and The AristoCats were two of my favorite movies growing up and my parents and I used to listen to Peter and the Wolf on cassette tape in the car.”  Tinkerbell is ’Witkovsky s original play. When it comes to directing her own work she says,  “I’m really excited about the opportunity. I’m glad that I have someone else helping me, though, because sometimes when you work too closely with your own script. You don’t find that extra something from the text that a fresh pair of eyes will find.  Sometimes I need to just take a step back from my writings and ask someone else what they think or how they envision a scene.”

First time actress Caitlin Mesiano, a recent graduate of Pace University, is thrilled to be performing in Meredith this summer “I am very excited to be spending my summer in Meredith, as I have heard it is a lovely town, and probably not too much unlike my hometown of Center Moriches on Long Island. I think Meredith with be a great fit for me!”  Mesiano is playing Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls and looks forward to playing the role.“I am thrilled to be playing such a classically elegant role, especially because much of musical theater these days has been so contemporized. Don’t get me wrong, I love contemporary shows, but there’s just something about taking on a role in a show that has so much history that I find refreshing and exciting.”

Scott Sowinski returns for his third season at  Interlakes Summer Theatre. He previously appeared in 2008 as Sir Evelyn Oakleigh in Anything Goes and Vice Principal Panch in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee in 2010.  This year he is playing Don Quixote in Man of LaMancha “Don Quixote is one of the best male leads written. It is a huge challenge and one that I hope will be very rewarding. I think that the music is fantastic and it is a beloved piece of theatre that has been moving people for generations.” He goes on to say, “The cast will be amazing as it is the best of the best of Nancy’s talent. I think that it will be extraordinary on every level.” Sowinski believes the goal behind Summer Stock Theatre is  “To put up productions that speak to an audience. In this case, Nancy asked them what they wanted and responded with this exciting season. Summer stock is about establishing relationships through the theater by giving people who might not always take the chance to see a show, the opportunity to do so. In the case of summer stock, theatre becomes recreation and fully engaging. It brings people a sense of diversion but also brings them inspiring art to watch and applaud.”

You won’t want to miss a single show this summer! Get your tickets soon.

A Review of Camelot!

From The Weirs Times
Lerner & Loewe’s “Camelot” Rocks Meredith
By Jane Bergeron

If you’ve ever hit the ‘oldies’ button on your car radio, or entered an elevator mid-song, and heard the strains of “Camelot”, your thoughts most likely flew to the handsome face and buttery baritone of Robert Goulet, and memories of hearing him sing the score on stage, in the movie, or on your own cassette tape.  Robert Goulet is as synonymous with the role of  King Arthur as Yul Brynner is with that of The King of Siam.

Producing Director of the Summer Theatre in Meredith Village, Nancy Barry was unable to procure the megastar to perform at the Interlakes Auditorium…..but she still pulled off a major coups when she was able to entice world famous director and choreographer, Norb Joerder, to spend part of his summer in New Hampshire.  It was Joerder who just recently reunited Goulet and “Camelot” for a critically acclaimed revival on Broadway, as well as a record breaking national tour.  But in 2010, he will be remembered for drawing the very best performances possible from a talented cast of young performers that Nancy gathered from all over the country.

Camelot” is a love story, or rather a love triangle, that has endured through the ages, whether based on fact or myth, the basics never change. The young and altruistic King Arthur reigns the magical kingdom of Camelot, where it never rains until after dark, and the sun shines daily by royal decree.  Kyle Szen, the ‘daddy-long-legs’ of the Meredith troupe, shines as the naïve ruler, and has a surprisingly strong stage voice for

such a young man – his lyrics are not only well sung, but also clear as a bell.

Of course, he is smitten by his lovely Queen Guenevere, who is unquestionably loyal to him throughout years of childless marriage. Plymouth University’s little cutie,  Lauren Burbank with the golden tresses, is wearing the 2nd crown in “Camelot”, and is almost as adorably naïve as her spouse.  The monkey-wrench in the works is that young scamp, Sir Lancelot, played by Billy Noble, who, of course, holds his emotions in check for years as he pines for Her Highness.

The uber-talented Jared Troilo, who this summer has already razzle dazzled us as Billy Flynn in “Chicago”, does double duty in “Camelot’ as not only Arthur’s lifelong tutor, the magician Merlyn, but also the ex-patriate and quirky King Pellinore.

The ladies in waiting and knights in shining armor populate this idyllic kingdom in an array of 51 sumptuous and stunning costumes, and are accompanied once again by the STMV show band.  This is a band well utilized, not just stowed away in their ‘pit’, but also actively involved on the stage as with the clarinetist and fiddler from “Fiddler on the Roof”, the trumpeter from “Camelot”, and the whole ensemble during the production of “Chicago.”

The royals from “Camelot” will be appearing in this chivalrous and witty romp through Sunday, August 15th, and hope to see you at the castle at The Summer Theatre at Meredith Village, in the Interlakes Auditorium on Route 25 in Meredith.  For more information on performances and tickets, please stop by the Box Office, call 1-888-245-6374, or visit the website, www.interlakestheatre.com.  You’ll be humming the tune to “If Ever I Would Leave You” for weeks……

Local Celebrities at Summer Theatre’s “Spelling Bee”

Clockwise from top: Brittany Bara, Scott Sowinski, Vanessa Moyen (11), Cody Strand (13), Will Carlyon (21).

The Summer Theatre in Meredith Village will open its final production of the season, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” on August 17th at 8:00 at the Interlakes High School Community Auditorium. This new Broadway musical, which will run for one week only, will feature local celebrities including the Common Man entrepreneur, Alex Ray and Pat Kelly of WLNH. Nancy Barry, producer, said “We are currently talking to the Governor’s office. Spelling Bee sounded like fun to the Governor and he and Dr. Lynch would like to participate.” The whole idea started with Broadway producer “Barbara Whitman” whose son performed as Friedrich in “The Sound of Music” last year. “I was a little worried that the title wasn’t well known” says Barry, “But after seeing the show, I knew we had to do it!” The show is all heart. Its about these champion spellers who are a bit nerdy and very intense. For each of them, this championship spelling bee is a cathartic discovery on their journey. Will Carlyon, Barbara Whitman’s son, plays Chip Talentino, the previous years winner. Will, who is only nineteen, grew up with the creation of “Spelling Bee” happening all around him so it is only fitting that be here performing.

Performances of “Spelling Bee” are August 17th through the 22nd. Tuesday through Saturday at 8:00 and Sunday at 7:00 with Matinees on Wednesday at 2:00 and a special family day matinee on Saturday at 2:00.

Review of Chicago!

To be published in the Weirs Times!

“Chicago” Jazzes up Meredith
By Jane Bergeron

When ‘the hills are alive with the sound of music’, the Von Trapp family doesn’t necessarily have to be present.   All you need are 25 or so talented young actors, singers, dancers and musicians taking command of the stage at The Summer Theatre in Meredith Village while they rock your world with their third production of the summer – sexy, jazzy, sometimes scantily clad – “Chicago.”

Producing Director Nancy Barry has had “Chicago” at the top of her list of musicals to bring to the Lakes Region for three years, and her perseverance was finally rewarded this year at the last gasp of auditioning in New York.  One of the few ‘true’ musicals among thousands, “Chicago” is 90% music and 10% acting – who needs to make a speech when you can belt out some “Razzle Dazzle”?

Just in case you’ve been off the planet for awhile, “Chicago” is a tale of murder by fame-seeking speakeasy performers during prohibition years.  It was a time when the ‘best’ murder committed by the sexiest broad drew the most press coverage and resulting fame to not only the suspect lady, but her attorney and reporters as well.
Current trophy holder for most scandalous crime, Velma Kelly is awaiting trial and has become the sweetheart of the tabloid press.

Debuting in Meredith for this role is NYC’s Kelsey Cooke with her ‘20’s bob, fishnet stockings, and a voice that might knock you out of your seat.  Her new competition, the recently incarcerated dumb blonde Roxie Hart, is giving Velma a run for the money in all the aforementioned categories. Maggie Politi returns to STMV, thankfully, for a second summer.

If you were lucky enough to get tickets to the preceding production, “Fiddler on the Roof”, you had the joy of watching John Baker’s conversations with God and his delivery of “Tradition”, “If I Were a Rich Man”, and more.  Saints be praised  –  John returns as Roxie’s husband, Amos – no – Andy – no – Amos – and is heart wrenching with his presentation of “Mr. Cellophane.”

Attorney Billy Flynn (played by Jared Troilo) is slap-worthy as the ladies’ lawyer;  schlumpy prison matron “Mama” Morton, is a hoot of a role for Sheira Feuerstein; and C. Williams’ star reporter Mary Sunshine, is truly a sight to be seen.  But only until August 1st.

Don’t let “Chicago” slip out of town until you have your tickets.  The Summer Theatre in Meredith Village is resident of the delightfully air-conditioned Inter-Lakes Auditorium on Rte. 25.  For tickets and information, visit the Box Office, call 1-888-245-6374, or browse their website at www.interlakestheatre.com.  “Chicago” could be ‘your kind of town’.

“Chicago” Razzle-Dazzles In Meredith

After waiting six months to receive permission from the original producers, The Summer Theatre in Meredith Village is excited to bring “Chicago” to New Hampshire.

Never before has the Broadway musical been so sexy and stylish – this 1920’s tale of two merry murderesses razzle-dazzles with a score by Kander and Ebb. The show features a handpicked professional cast from across the country that is sure to impress. This jazzy musical is directed by Brian Feehan, who also directed Summer Theatre favorites, “The Buddy Holly Story” and “Fiddler on the Roof.”

“Chicago” runs from July 20th to August 1st.

The season will continue with special Monday performances of “My Way: a Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra” on July 26 and August 9th, “Camelot” and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”.

Nancy Barry and The Summer Theatre mentioned in the Concord Monitor!

For owner, operator and actress, a 24-hour job
Theater veteran leads her own troupe

By Victoria ShouldisFor the Monitor July 8, 2010

Nancy Barry is never, ever far from the drama. On stage, she is trying to get her apron adjusted just right as she sings and dances “Tradition” with most of the 42-person cast of Fiddler on the Roof. Just barely offstage, she is trying to coordinate a quick trip to Ballard’s Novelties for a prop run. And then there’s the ghost haunting some of the interns.
