Winning an award for best original score written for the theatre in the 1998 Tonys, Ragtime, The Musical displays the collision of families in pursuit of the American Dream, taking place during a quintessential turning point in American history. This riveting tale dives into the differing perspectives of a cast of characters including; a well-off white couple, a Jewish immigrant and his daughter without a mother, and an African American Ragtime musician, as their storylines converge. Featuring historical characters such as Henry Ford, Harry Houdini, Evelyn Nesbit, Booker T. Washington, and J.P Morgan, and Emma Goldman, you won’t want to miss this enthralling musical!
Guest artists include Mikey LaBalsamo as Tateh, Allison Gray as Mother, Gerard Williams as Coalhouse Walker, and Kiaya Scott as Sarah, and Mickey White, last seen in as Jack in Newsies, as Younger Brother. We are also welcoming back local youths, Lydia Taylor as Little Girl, and Forest Hamel as Little Boy (Edgar).
This production is directed and choregraphed by Brian Feehan, ILST’s most prolific director, with returning Musical Director, Alexander Tom. Also returning as Costume Designer is DW Withrow. Set Designer is Hector Figueroa, and Lighting Designer, Kelly Gibson. Sound Designer is Samuel Hayes.
The show will run from July 17th-28th with performances on Wednesdays thru Saturdays at 7:30, matinees on Thursdays at 2:00 and Sundays at 5:00 at the Inter-Lakes Auditorium, One Laker Lane, Meredith. Tickets are on sale online or at the box office 603-707-6035.
