Brian Feehan

Screen Shot 2016-07-12 at 12.35.38 PMBrian Feehan (Director) – is an award winning director, choreographer and writer who has worked  professionally for over three decades.   He began his career as an actor, singer and dancer, attending the prestigious Goodman School of Drama as well as the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, and was one of thirty recruited by the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain, where he learned directly from Sir Ian McKellan, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and the late Alan Rickman.  He has directed and taught seminars at Yale University, Fordham University, the Walnut Hill School of the Arts and beginning this autumn he will be on the faculty of the American Musical Theatre Academy in New York.  Recently, he was Associate Director with multiple Emmy and Drama Desk Award winner and multiple Tony Nominee, Patricia Birch “GREASE” on the new musical “ORPHAN TRAIN”. He was nominated for Best Choreography by the Philadelphia Critics Circle for his production of “JACQUES BREL”, nominated for a Wilde Award for Best Professional Production for his direction of “THE 39 STEPS” and won the Audience Favorite Award for his production of “NUNSENSE” at The Dorset Theatre Festival. He received the Golden Leaf Best Director Award for his production of “THE LION IN WINTER” also at the Dorset; and the Founder’s Award for Best Direction in New York City for the Oppy Award winning “CARRIN BEGINNING”.   At Interlakes, he has directed and choreographed numerous productions including, HAIRSPRAY, CABARET, A CHORUS LINE, SINGING IN THE RAIN, CHICAGO, WEST SIDE STORY, 42ND STREET, SOUND OF MUSIC and both production of BUDDY HOLLY to name just a few.  

As a writer, Brian was invited to attend the renowned Iowa Writer’s Conference.  He has multiple published short stories and several published plays: (Heuer Publishing).  “HEAD GAMES” was a finalist for the Heideman Award at the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, a finalist for the American Globe play festival in NYC, at the Lost Theatre Co. in London and the Summer Shorts series in New Jersey.  “A fascinating look at how neurosis can be contagious” – Montclair Times.  The screenplay version was selected for the Beverly Hills Film Festival 2010.   “MARTINIS AND MIDNIGHT” was also part of the American Globe Festival, as well as the Lost Theater.  His adapation of the JM Barrie classic “PETER PAN” played the Dorset Theater Festival.   “The most intriguing and exciting production of the DTF season” Vermont Today.
