Michael McKelvey

Michael_McKelvey_ThumbMichael McKelvey (Director-Les Miserables) is excited to be making his debut with Interlakes Theatre.  He has recently moved to the Northeast from Austin, Texas.  While in Austin, he was artisitic director of SummerStock Austin, Director of Musical Theatre at St. Edward’s University and ran his own production company.  Some of his directing credits include Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Legally Blonde, Chess, Sweeney Todd (BIP Award), Annie, A Year with Frog and Toad (BIP Award), Footloose, Oklahoma, Assassins (BIP Award), The Pajama Game, City of Angels, Carousel, Company and Evil Dead.  He is also an artistic associate of Penfold Theatre Co. with whom he has directed award-winning productions of The Last 5 Years (ACT Award), john and jen (ACT Award), I Love You Because, and most recently A Minister’s Wife.  Michael is also a music director/conductor with over 70 productions to his credit and is on the musical theatre faculty at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, where he heads the voice department.
